Ballowall Barrow – Carn Gloose, Near Penzance

After tracking down the “Lesser Boggle Eyed Gull”  yesterday we checked out Ballowall Barrow.

A pre-historic chambered tomb in a spectacular cliff-edge position, Carn Gloose, the construction of the site is unique in consisting of a combination of Neolithic and Bronze age funerary rituals. This unique tomb had a long and complex history as a sacred site. Excavated in 1878 by Cornish antiquarian William Borlase after it was discovered under mining debris.
