Hello and welcome to my website.
My name is Lisa and I was born and raised in Penzance, Cornwall.
My family has strong roots in Cornwall and we spend many magical moments in our beautiful county. I wanted to create a website with local knowledge and at the same time a site that gives you information on local accommodation and also places to visit and fun things to do !
When you’re looking for inspiration for a summer holiday, it is often difficult to find a holiday that is both affordable yet exciting for all members of the family. Even though many people opt for travelling abroad for holidays, we believe that the UK still has much to offer in terms of finding a summer holiday for all of the family. Welcome to Cornwall is a fun and informative blog, managed by myself and I am committed to providing all holiday hunters with all the relevant information and advice about holidaying in Cornwall.
I have some great connections with fantastic Holiday Companies including Holiday Cottages to hotels through Expedia UK and camping by John Fowler Holidays. I have showcased a wide range for all budgets and tastes and will be adding more accommodation as my site grows through my connections. So please click through to check out the varied selection.
A holiday in Cornwall will always have no trouble in creating memories for you and your family. It’s an extremely friendly, idyllic location of our beautiful country, offering sizzling (occasionally damp) beaches, mouth-watering food choices and breath-taking countryside views. As amazing as that sounds, these kind of interests may not quite entertain a child; but that’s what so great about holidays in Cornwall – there is something for everyone. With a great selection of holiday parks, holiday cottages and hotels across Cornwall, they alone can offer you certain activities for you and the family to enjoy for the day, as well as local areas worth visiting.
So rather than just highlight places of interest, I want to add a personal touch, not only recommending places to visit but for those of you with young children I also want to put my daughters perspective on things she enjoys. My daughter is now 7 and I know how hard it can be trying to keep her entertained !! There are some lovely places to go with children that don’t need to cost a fortune. Except maybe the cost of a pasty or an ice cream ! Ashleigh’s favourite places
On a personal note, I have added My Gran’s story about life when she was growing up and how she lost her dad in the 1919 Levant Mine Disaster. It’s a short story but I think you will enjoy reading it and it takes you back in time to Cornwall past. http://welcometocornwall.com/history
If you have visited Cornwall before you will know how easy it is to fall in love with. Cornwall will capture a piece of your heart and that will last a lifetime.
If anything captures your interest, I would love you to get involved within my site. I love to hear stories about Cornwall and and if you have anything interesting that you want to share, please do comment!
I hope you enjoy looking around the site and please contact me if you have any questions. I’d love to see your comments too.
Best wishes and Welcome To Cornwall.
